Awesome - another case review - Practicing for 20+ years- I've done 2 practicums, an internship and post-doctoral fellowship successfully - have a successful practice - so I'm curious - what are the qualifications of those reviewing my treatment and if this insurance company believes I haven't helped my patient quickly enough they ought to tell their patients they have X amount of time to get it together. Will be dropping this insurance as soon as possible

Totally agree - if this company think I need their supervision - I believe I should be paid for my time - not sure what the point of peer reviews are -

Provider complaint

This is the second time I have been called to set up time for a review of one of my patients. I have been practicing for over 25 years and believe my judgement about what my patient's needs are better than a template they use for care. This company's reimbursement is worse than almost any other company. Will not be taking any new patients

This is my struggle every day. Magellan has the audacity to almost take glee in denying treatment.

I have had their physician tell me during a peer review that a patient with active suicidal ideation, with plan and intent "could probably just handle this by going to AA meetings, and treatment isn't necessary". I hate this company and it blows my mind how they can sleep at night

I 100% agree. I have seen a patient for no cost while she changes her insurance rather than be questioned about her treatment by someone that knows nothing about psychotherapy

Beware of dr. daniel corboy

it appears this dr.daniel corboy has denied EVERY REQUEST placed before him. I can only assume he gets some sort of bonus as he meets his quota to deny folks? wow- i would like to know how many times his mother, sister, daughter, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, daddy, son, brother has been denied from NATIONAL IMAGING ASSOCIATION for any requested proceedures? i would hate to assume because i am a southern, christian, female, sr.citizen, that i was denied? it is pitiful to think any person in need of medical help is being denied by this man whom, i assume, pretends to uphold the Hippocratic oath. i assume he needs jesus- bless his heart- as a christian i need to forgive him and pray for him- but i sure don't want to.

Worst insurance (Medicaid Plan) ever !!

29 year old son has 2 bulging thoracic discs in his spine and after seeing the first Orthopedic physician in January 2019, it is now mid July and my son has not received the proper care for his spine. 6 months have passed and it has been a long struggle to get approval and authorization for the MRI and now for him to see an Neurospine physician which did nothing for him....

and referred him to see a Spine anesthesiologist which now requires authorization once again. It is a game that Magellan plays because they DO NOT want to pay for the care even though they receive state and federal funds for each person that is assigned to them. They DO NOT have physicians in network, so they play the bouncing the patient around game. I am an RN for over 30 years and have never seen anything like this.

I will be seeking legal advice due to lack of proper care for my son ..... his pain is getting worse every day and he is not taking any pain medications due to side effects.

Please choose a different plan or insurance .... or keep your straight Medicaid/ Medicare because these so called managed care companies are taking the money, But NOT managing or providing the care.

I called to find a provider for my son. The first representative on the line spoke to me condescendingly from the start, made a noise of disgust when I told him my son's last name (Spanish last name) and the last straw was when he actually told me that he couldn't understand me because I have an "accident." I'm pretty sure he meant "accent." It is incredible that this type of prejudice is allowed in this company.

I filed a complaint, but I have the feeling that nothing will be done.

I will contact the corporate office next as well as write reviews/complaints like this online. Be aware of racism and discrimination in this company.

The WORST insurance

I’ve been trying to find a primary doctor who takes Magellan but no one will accept this insurance the names and address that customer services give you to call none accept this insurance and if they do they are not taking new patients this insurance is the WORST.

For a WEEK now I've been trying to get my medication through the prior authorization process, and I'm so close to putting a gun in my mouth because ive been without my medication for 2 weeks. How can this possibly be lawful? To hold people's medication hostage while they suffer and suffer day after day while they take their sweet time "reviewing" my medication. It's a joke, and they're going to be the cause of death to someone if they haven't been responsible for a bunch already. I get this insurance through work and I'm better off paying 300 a month for my own than suffering for weeks without my medication so they can have a better bottom line.

Excessive hold times

From a clinician perspective, trying to conduct a non assigned concurrent review, the hold time is typically at least 30 minutes and there is no online submission option. Before you can be transferred from the initial person answering the call, you are asked for patient's date of birth by the same person at least 3-4 times during the same interaction. Absolutely and by far the worst carrier.

I was with another company had to switch no choice of mine. Called spoke with a gentleman who was very rude., uncaring and totally made me feel unwelcomed. Spoke to me as if I was a child when I told him that I had other options for families meds he said well go ahead. This is not good customer service. He could have acted and spent alittle time in helping me understand how to transition from my other wonderful company to this one. Didn't seem like he cared to help me or not that I was just another phone call. I don't even want to give one star actually.

AS A MAGELLAN PROVIDER HOW CAN WE EXPEDITE CLINICAL AUTHOR? WE DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO HOLD ON ENDLESSLY IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A PSYCHE CONSULT AUTHOR. FOR A BED ON A MEDICAL FLOOR FOR CARE PLUS / MAGELLAN? WE CALL GIVE ALL THE INFORMATION THEN WE ARE PLACED IN A QUE WHERE WE HOLD SOMETIMES AS LON AS 45 MINUTES ONLY TO HAVE TO REPEAT ALL THE INFORMATION TO THE CLINICIAN. WHY IS THE AUTHORIZATION FROM THE HOSPITAL NOT COVERING US FOR CONSULT WHEN IT IS DEEMED MEDICALLY NECESSARY BY THE HOSPITALIST THAT ADMITS THE PATIENT FOR MEDICAL REASONS. ALSO THERE IS NO WAY TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE AT THE TOP.

We are suppose to have five free sessions of counseling with magllean health.i was signed up to see a counselor. Denying claim that she isn’t in network, but she is!!!!my therapist is even pissed st them.horrible company

Refill of medication

Every time there is a problem for refill. Oneday an associates says that u will get it within 30 minutes , next day other says with in 2 hours . 15 days have gone like this and i am without medication and also a patient of heart. God bless this co. What more i can say !

Issues resolved-0..that says it all! Very, VERY unhappy customer! Why are we paying YOU again? Oh, thats right, to cover our LIFE SAVING MEDICATIONS! Im on day(?) Without...cant even remember because its been so long. Ive called, left messages, no return calls, then spoken to someone, my doctor has called repeatedly, faxed the bogus forms you require ( never had to do that in the 7 years Ive been on this medicine with UMR) My doctor was sent a letter of approval FINALLY and wouldnt you know it Magellan denied coverage AGAIN at the pharmacy that same day just hours later. Same thing with my husbands anti-rejection medicine for his heart...I think there is something rather fishy going on with this company and apparently, its not just me. Still waiting Magellen. Still waiting....

Every conversation I've had with these people has been difficult, unhelpful and often downright rude. They wanted to charge me over $480 for prescription co-pay that CVS charge me $50 for and they mailed my medications to the wrong address and blamed it on me as opposed to accepting responsibility and addressing the issues. Pray you don't get Ashley and their customer service department who told me I have to wait 24 hours to speak to a manager

I have been told 3 times that a supervisor will call me concerning my transplant medication and I never heard a word from them! These people are the worst!

I was told by a 1st line phone answerer that if I didn't like that my transplant medication was to come from Magellan RX specialty pharmacy then I should call my doctor and have him change it.

1st line people giving medical advice! All of their customer service people need help and get retrained.I am sick of being lied to from the people.
